With the recent rising of online entrepreneurs there has been a surface of thousands of blogs and they are all in a race to grab a spot amongst the top ranks in the search engine result pages (SERPs). And every online user knows that he/she should put in some effort to get these much desired top rankings.

To accomplish this, you have to work at promoting the blog by using some of my listed methods.

1.) Content Quality

The things that readers will pay attention to is your blog’s content. Good information will initiate your readers list. If your blog has decent content then online readers will eventually visit your blog time after time and hopefully read every post published in your blog. This type of information will attract readers to your blog and hence increases traffic to your blog. So in short publish good quality, fresh, unique and useful posts to your blog. If the post is of reader’s interest and useful to them then they definitely visit your blog again and again to read new posts written by you. This will also develop your blog reputation. Quality blogs will always posses more value to your readers. So have a look at your content and prepare to get more traffic.

2.) Building Links

My second most effective way is to build links to your blog. Use Off Page SEO techniques to build links. Some of the off page SEO methods include: social bookmark, social media, press release, article submission, directory submission, links from question/answer sites, video links, ppt links etc. Building links are easier than you think when you put your mind to it. Link relevancy is the another important factor. Always keep in mind to create your links towards relevant sites that have a good online reputation, page rank, alexa rank, page authority, domain authority and having low bounce rate.

3.) Guest Blogging

My third most effective way to promote your blog is by building links through guest blogging. Guest blogging is a technique that can create links for your blog while you write posts on another blog. This method helps drive traffic coming from another blog to your blog.

To wrap it up my personal favorite ways to build links and promote a blog :

Blog Comments – This is a great way to get backlinks by commenting on different blogs. Choose any post you like from the blog and give a relevant useful comment on the post and fill your blog URL on the required field. Some sites will allow you to place a desirable keyword within the name field in the format:.

Guest Posting – Writing a post for another blog and getting it published… is called guest posting. Many blogs have a button for “Guest Posting” where one can submit his/her post and submit an“Author-bio” at the end of the post with a desired link. After approval you can see your post online with your blog’s link at the end of your post. This method also helps your online reputation and is another best way to gain traffic to your blog.

Forum Postings – Forum posting is another favorite option of mine to get direct traffic. Find a forum you like within your niche and register. Start to participate on different threads actively. Place your blog link in the signature field and where-ever possible (without being a spammer). Every time when you participate on any thread, you will get a back link for your blog.

Not so with guest blogging.

To be successful in guest blogging, learn which sites are the best places for your posts, and try to understand what they need from you. For example:

1: Look for blogs that are in your niche.

Backlinks from relevant sites in your niche are more valuable than links from unrelated sites. So stick to blogs in your topic.
