Do you know how to find your base URL of your Google profile? This is a new feature from Google which will allow you to make a specific name or “vanity url” to show up on the first page when people search for it. Everyone who uses at least one of the services offered from Google will be able to obtain a profile.
This post will suggest a step by step answer to help you do just that while optimizing your Google profile. The first step is to load the page for your google profile after you create an account, go back and sign in with a username and password. Now you have logged in and the first thing you have to do is to type your name.
The name you type will be used for all their services such as Gmail and if the name is different there, it will be switched to the one you just typed. For more efficiency you can type the name you would type in a CV just because employers looking for employees can end up viewing it. The next step is uploading a picture which can be done by the square next to the name saying Change photo.
The other thing you may type is a nickname. After that there is a little section called mini bio.
It includes personal information like birth place, places you have lived, school info and etc. Now the next section is very important. You will have to type a short biography and you could add key words which are associated with one’s personal outlook, you should add very detailed info.
After you have completed that section you will be asked to enter links which you are related to such as social networks, blog and so on. If you are planning to use it to get in touch with employers you should be careful with the links you enter, you do not want to be embarrassed. With completing that step you can hit Create profile so you can save the info.
After that you will add some more info by clicking on it and this is where you will be able to enter emails, phone numbers and address, a part of knowing how to find your base URL of your Google profile. This is not visible for everyone; you can decide who the people with access to it are. At the end you just have to verify that name and you can open a new tab and search for it, you should find it at the bottom of the page.
