Describe Yourself
The first step to building your brand is to let everyone know who you are. You should be able to state who you are, what your expertise is and the things you value. A bio that tells your background, experience, and provides reasons that make you unique from other people, should be created.
Create a Website
This site should represent you and your business. It should be professional and informative. The site should be registered in your own domain name. The domain name should have your name incorporated into it.
Create your Own Blog
Making your own blog is a way to get people to know you personally. You can add photos, tell stories, and share your experiences. This is also a great way to show people your expertise and get the relevant information out to them.
Register with Websites and Blogs that Highlight your Expertise
Joining others sites related to your expertise can allow you to network with various individuals who share your interest. This is also another outlet to show your expertise.
Join Social Sites
Many people use these social sites to connect with other people and to market themselves. Sites such as Facebook can be used to market yourself and allow people to follow what you are doing.
Get your Content out there
Publishing content on various sites and blogs is also another way to market your brand. You can also provide links back to your websites for people who are interested in your work.
Provide Excellent Content
All content posted should be very well written and all information should be credible. This content should stand out from other material.
Provide Contact Information
After posting articles, or writing on blogs, there should be some type of contact information left for the viewers of this material. This information can be provided in signatures when sending emails and posting in various blogs.
Make Videos
Creating videos will help people get a personal feel for what you are doing. Allowing people to see how you present yourself and how passionate you feel about your expertise can help them get a feel for who you are.
Allow content to be shared
Allowing your content to be shared will allow individuals to post your items on other sites. The more people who read your content or interact with your videos, the better.
