How To Make Your Blog More SEO Friendly To Get More Customers
Many businesses that are savvy enough to know they need a blog stop right there. They have no idea how to maximize the benefits of their blog. The main thing that you need to think about with any website is content, second to that, and something that works hand in hand is SEO. SEO is search engine optimization and basically is fancy wording for being able to be found on the search results of the major search engines. If you want your blog and website to be found by your customers you need to learn a little bit about SEO and how you can use it to maximize the benefits of your efforts online.
When you are working with a blog the easiest way to get better SEO is to use plugins. On the WordPress platform as of this writing there are currently 13,717 plugins available for you to use. I strongly discourage you from using all of them. That was blog humor people come on lighten up! There are some very effective plugins that I do recommend for all of my clients to use to increase their SEO effectiveness. Here are my top three: All in one SEO, XML Sitemaps, and SEO Friendly Images.
Now that you have some great plugins installed on your site you are ready to start making some posts. It is the content that is king when it comes to being ranked highly in the search engines. If you put up crap expect crappy results. Make sure that anything you write is understandable and is written on a 5th-12th grade reading level for the best results. Not only do the search engines like this, but it is much easier to read when people are busily scanning through your site.
When you are making posts to your blog and creating pages you need to think about the keywords that you are going to submit. If you are using the All in one SEO plugin I talked about earlier it will have a place that you can enter these keywords, a short description of the article and a title. When you are putting in keywords refrain from the idea that putting more keywords is better. Actually just the opposite is true. Narrow down your keywords to 4 or five very precisely focused terms or phrases that point people directly to the content that you have in your post
When you are trying to get more business there are right and wrong ways to go about it. The search engines are quite complex and smart. If they think for a second that you are trying to trick them you will be penalized by losing your rank. So don’t do it! Stick to the methods I have talked about here and you will find that you are getting targeted traffic to your blog and website.
If you have always wanted to know how to make more money with your business using the internet then I have a special gift for you. I have written an eBook on how to get the search engines to love your website/blog. I am offering it to you for free.
